LETTERS HOME FROM DONNA FAYE
"50% OFF CLEARANCE PRICE"
By Donna Caudill
DEAR FRIENDS,
Shopping. It is more than a necessary evil these days. Along with
purchasing what we need to be fed, clothed and warm, shopping
is a hobby enjoyed by the vast majority of the population.
Modern day retailers are more than willing to make our shopping
experience a pleasant one. At the dame time, the retailers will take
that hard-earned cash and reinvest in advertising campaigns to get
you to come back and shop again.
One of the challenges for the seasoned shopper is to find a bargain.
The money paid more less money paid for an expensive item, the better
the satisfaction. I have found myself going straight to the sales rack
when I entered a store, not even looking at items that were full price.
"Isn't this gorgeous?" we ask as we show the bargain item off like a trophy.
"It was marked down to 50% off the lowest price."
Do we act the same with the things of the God? Do we look at what He
has to offer and then decide to take what doesn't cost as much?
Do we go shopping for relationships in the same way? Instead of looking
for one that cost time, prayer and maybe some heartache, do we go
straight to what won't cost us near as much?
God's promises will never go on the clearance rack. He has already paid
the price for our salvation, peace and redemption. His joy, strength, grace,
mercy and His love were bought at full price, and paid for.
You are precious in His sight. Don't bargain shop when it comes to God.
Love,
Donna Faye

PS: This Christmas season, don't short change the value of what has
been spent for a relationship with Christ.
God sent His son to live as lowly, humble man, He walked as a man
who suffered and experienced the same problems as others; in order that
He would know our hearts and give us compassion. He paid the full
price for our sins, taking the burden on the cross in death.
Jesus Christ now offers to walk with us always, to hear our pleas and
to stand for us in front of God the Father. ~AB
Matthew 1:20-21 ". . . And she shall bring forth a son, and
thou shalt call His name JESUS; for he shall save His people
from their sins."
Philippians 2:5-8 "…Christ Jesus, who being in the form of God,
thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no
reputation, and took on himself the form of a servant and was made
in the likeness of men…. He humbled himself, and became obedient
unto death- even, the death of the cross."
